The Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal are holding an Advent Day of Reflection Dec. 4 in Atlantic City.
The retreat is aimed at helping the faithful prepare for Advent by opening hearts and minds to welcome Jesus, the sisters said. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Saint Michael Church, a worship site of the Parish of Saint Monica, and include Adoration, opportunities for Confession and Mass. The guest speaker will be Father Sebastian Maria Kajko, C.F.R.
“As the world around us already swirls with Christmas busyness, pulling out for a few hours to pray, reflect on the meaning of Advent, and encounter Christ in the sacraments may be the best gift we can give ourselves and others as we prepare for Christmas,” said Sister Ann Kateri, C.F.R., of Atlantic City’s Saint Michael Convent.
There will also be a Christmas Gift Shop set up in Quaremba Hall (just behind Saint Michael Church), with doors opening at 9:30 a.m.
