On Friday, April 8, the Franciscan Mystery Players from Our Lady of Hope Parish in Blackwood presented “Jesus the Healer” at Sacred Heart Church in Vineland. A dramatic and multimedia presentation of the passion and death of Jesus and the healing events in his life, the play utilizes special lighting, music, drama and meditations, without the use of speaking parts. Another performance will be Saturday, April 16, 8 p.m., at Our Lady of Hope Parish. “Jesus the Healer” is one of five meditations written by Father Francis Pompei, a Franciscan Friar of the Holy Name Province in Buffalo, N.Y. Another group of Mystery Players, stationed at Holy Family Parish in Sewell, have performed “The Way of the Cross” at area parishes this Lent.
