Gerry Janansky is eagerly anticipating the start of the 2022-2023 school year at Resurrection Catholic School, her first as the Cherry Hill elementary school’s principal.
A native of the Camden Diocese, she most relishes the chance to “fully communicate our vision to form students to become faith-filled adults who, guided by Gospel values, shape our world with knowledge, integrity and compassion.”
Janansky earned bachelors’ degrees in subject matter education and English from Rowan University, Glassboro, as well as a master’s degree in educational leadership through the Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program at Notre Dame University, South Bend, Ind. She also holds a teacher’s license from the state of New Jersey and a principal’s license from Indiana.
The South Jersey resident practices her faith as a member of Saint Mary of Mount Carmel Parish, Hammonton. She attended Saint Vincent de Paul Regional School, Mays Landing, from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Janansky began her eight-year career in 2014 in Assumption Regional Catholic School, Galloway, as a kindergarten teacher and drama club director; two years later, she took on the roles of middle school literature teacher and eighth-grade homeroom teacher while continuing her drama club duties.
The new grammar school principal feels faith and subject matter unite to form a whole child. She reflected, “As a product of South Jersey Catholic education myself, I am passionate about the opportunity for all children to grow and learn in Catholic schools. Catholic education leverages the beauty of our faith in believing that we are all made in the image and likeness of God to push students to succeed in their own unique ways. Through this balance of love and rigor, all children can grow to know and serve God and others.”
