Two Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary sisters with decades of service to the Stone Harbor community were recognized during a Mass and reception organized by the town’s Saint Brendan the Navigator Parish. Sister James Dolores’ 65th anniversary of religious profession and Sister Andrew Marie’s 90th birthday were celebrated at a Sept. 9 liturgy, followed by a reception at the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor. Both sisters lived and worked for years at the Villa Maria By-the-Sea retreat house, and they continue to serve in ministry in the area. In this photo, Sister James renews her vows at the Mass of Thanksgiving that was celebrated at Saint Paul Church, speaking into a microphone held by Deacon Charlie Devlin. Father William Kelly, pastor, far left, and Sister Mary Ellen Tennity, IHM, right, general superior, were among the clergy and religious in attendance.
