A preschool child enrolled at Angel’s Alley enjoys a craft with a LIFE at Lourdes participant. The children and LIFE participants got together for pre-Halloween festivities.
On Tuesday, Oct. 27 the clients at the LIFE at Lourdes Center in Pennsauken were treated to some pre-Halloween festivities when several classes from Angel’s Alley, the onsite childcare center at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, stopped by for a visit.
According to Ruthanne Towers, director of Angels’ Alley, the visit was the first of what will be an ongoing relationship between the two centers. “The purpose of the visit was to promote intergenerational appreciation and understanding. Both the seniors and the children enjoyed their time together.”
During the visit, the children paraded in their Halloween costumes, entertained the LIFE clients with a repertoire of seasonal songs and enjoyed a craft project and snacks.
LIFE at Lourdes, which opened in May, is one of the first PACE programs in New Jersey. LIFE coordinates all medical care for elders living at home as an alternate to nursing home care. The program serves health care and social needs for the elderly, all in one place, including transportation.
