The 10th annual Bishop’s Society of Stewards, to honor those individuals who have donated $5,000 or more in a particular House of Charity-Bishop’s Annual Appeal campaign year, was celebrated Oct. 27 at Auletto Caterers, Deptford. Guest speaker Brother Mickey McGrath, OSFS, provided a spiritual dimension to the evening, and John Paul II Regional School, Stratford, student, Marco Romeo, spoke about the value of the special education programs offered in the Camden Diocese that are funded by the House of Charity. John Desparrois, coordinator of Catholic Charities in Salem and Cumberland counties, provided insight into the effects of contributions for Social Services. Right, Brother Mickey presents one of his paintings, “All God’s Critters Got a Place In the Choir,” to Marco, with Bishop Joseph A. Galante. Below, Bishop Galante stands with those inducted this year into the Society of Seraphim, those donors who have contributed at the Society of Steward level over the past 10 years to the House of Charity. The evening’s dinner, services and venue were donated by Jim Auletto (Auletto Caterers), Anthony Dintino (Sysco Foods), Jason Wilson (Samuels and Son Seafood Co.), Jerry Yost (U.S. Foods), and Mort Snyder (Snyder Meats), and Eugene Engel (Tinacci Winery).
