Archbishop Damiano School in Westville Grove was selected from more than 200 kids’ gardening programs nationwide to receive a 2009 Hooked on Hydroponics Award from the National Gardening Association, The Grow Store, and Progressive Gardening Trade Association. This award-winning youth gardening program will receive a WaterFarm hydroponics kit from The Grow Store and hydroponics curricula from the National Gardening Association.
“National Gardening Association is excited to introduce youth gardening programs to the world of hydroponics,” says Michael Metallo, President. “With the help from our sponsor, The Grow Store, we are able to provide a hands-on opportunity for children to learn alternative gardening techniques. Archbishop Damiano School was selected because of a demonstrated commitment to actively and creatively engaging youth in hydroponics and sharing their experience with the community! We were able to see from their application that their program is innovative and will be sustained for years to come.”
