The children’s ministries of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Parish in Hammonton are planning a town-wide Biking Against Bullying event.
The event is scheduled for 1 to 4 p.m. May 22. Bicyclists will meet at Hammonton Lake Park, then ride through streets in Hammonton, then conclude at Hammonton Lake Park, said Gia Porter, youth ministry coordinator for St. Mary of Mount Carmel Parish.
“Bullying has become such an epidemic in our schools and communities,” Porter said. “It is our hope to make a difference, even if it is a small one, to pedal past bullying, even if it is just for this one day.”
Fun, food and special guests are planned for the afternoon. The event is open to children in first to 12th grade. The entrance fee is $10. To find out more about participating, contact Porter at 609-576-8447.
