The Diocese of Camden’s faithful are being thanked for their donations to the recent annual Catholic Relief Services collection.
The collection, designated by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops for the weekend of March 27 this year, raised $138,695.25 through the efforts of parishes across the Diocese.
“I am grateful for your assistance in facilitating the generous gifts of the parishioners in your Diocese,” Catholic Relief Services wrote in a letter to diocesan staff.
According to the USCCB, the Catholic Relief Services collection supports Church organizations that carry out international relief and solidarity efforts. Programs include relief and resettlement for victims of persecution, war, and natural disasters; development projects to improve living conditions for the poor; legal and support services for poor immigrants; peace and reconciliation work for people suffering from violence; and advocacy.
