The stage is set for this Saturday’s New Jersey Non-Public Group II Football Championship, to be played at Paul VI High School in Haddon Township. Gloucester Catholic will square off against St. Joseph’s, Hammonton at 1 p.m. No. 1 seed St. Joseph (7-2) defeated Pingry last weekend, 41-0, scoring touchdowns on five of its first six possessions. Running backs Kaheem Reynolds and Gordon Hill both scored twice for the Wildcats. From 1999-2006, the school won a state-record eight Non-Public playoff championships, but has fallen short the past two years. Their opponent, No. 2 seed Gloucester Catholic (7-2), defeated Morris Catholic 33-7 last weekend, with wide receiver Tim Segich garnering 227 yards on six catches, and three trips into the end zone. And now, for the second time in three years, the Rams are going back to the final. Above, St. Joseph’s Jarred Bianchini finds open field for a first down.
