Margaret “Peg” Friel, 82, of Oak Valley, the mother of Father Edward Friel, administrator of Holy Saviour, Westmont, died Tuesday, Feb. 9.
Mrs. Friel was active in St. Margaret Parish in Woodbury Heights and in the Oak Valley Fire Company. She could always be found with a book, and saying a prayer for someone.
Besides Father Friel, Mrs. Friel is survived by her husband, Ed, and children Judy Ayers (Elmer); Ilene Friel; Steve (Regina) Friel; Margaret (Ron) Schaeffer and Sean (Rachael) Friel; and ten grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her brothers, Joe and Jim, and sister Mary.
A Mass of Resurrection was celebrated Feb. 15 at St. Margaret Church. Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery, Woodstown.
