The diocesan Office of Hispanic Ministry is inviting all to a “Share the Journey” celebration on Sunday, Dec. 2 at Divine Mercy Parish, 23 W. Chestnut Ave., Vineland, from 3-6 p.m.
Begun in September 2017 by Pope Francis, the “Share the Journey” campaign — sponsored nationally by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Catholic Charities USA, and Catholic Relief Services — aims to build a “culture of encounter” between U.S. Catholics, and migrants and refugees in conjunction with Jesus’ call to look beyond our needs, to the needs of others.
The day will be “a beautiful demonstration that the Church of South Jersey is always welcoming, accompanying and empowering our refugee and immigrant brothers and sisters, so they know they are not alone, and that we are with them,” said Andres Arango, Bishop’s Delegate for Hispanic Ministry.
Bishop Dennis Sullivan will celebrate the Eucharistic liturgy. There will be a special torch procession, connected with the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe; fellowship; music; and food.
Admission is free.
