The annual 2010 Society of Stewards dinner was held Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Auletto Caterers, Deptford.
Bishop Joseph A. Galante; Msgr. Roger McGrath, vicar general; Jim Lanahan, director of development; Mariann Gettings, director of the House of Charity; and three recipients of funding from the Appeal expressed their thanks for the generous gifts.
Deacon Russell Davis, recently ordained, spoke on the benefits of the Permanent Diaconate. Andres Arango, director of Evangelization, Young Adult and Campus Ministries shared his personal journey and the inroads being made with new programs like Theology on Tap. Kevin Hickey, executive director of Catholic Charities, spoke for James Lian Ve, a refugee from Burma, who could not attend because the resettlement and employment efforts were successful in getting James a job, where he was working that evening.
The dinner was donated by Jim Auletto of Auletto Caterers, Anthony Dintino of Sysco Foods, Jason Wilson of Samuels & Son Seafood Co., and Jerry Yost of US Foods.
Donations are still being accepted at the parishes or online at www.camdendiocese.org and clicking the House of Charity link.
