To its students’ surprise, Archbishop Damiano School, Saint John of God Community Services in Westville Grove received the Environmental Community Service Award on April 17, presented by Wawa, 6 ABC, and Manko, Gold, Katcher & Fox, LLP. The award is given annually to a school in the Delaware Valley for its outstanding programs that improve their communities, as well as raise awareness for environmental concerns. Following the presentation in the school gym, the guests visited the horticultural classroom to talk with teachers and students, and toured its community garden to witness the hands-on learning of Saint John of God’s students with developmental disabilities.
