Paul J. Kim brought his brand of energetic beatboxing Catholicism last Sunday night to a packed house at Saint Mary Parish in Williamstown.
A husband and father with a background as a marriage and family therapist, as well as religious formation with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, Kim gave a spirited presentation for all ages.
His visit came after parish youth heard him speak at last November’s Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana, and invited him to fill in a hole in his busy schedule with a stop in Williamstown.
Almost 500 in attendance heard Kim on March 1 share such stories as his encountering the Lord as a teenager, after praying from the heart. In addition, he led all in a guided prayer meditation.
The evening “was a deep encounter with the Holy Spirit,” noted Kari Janisse, coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Ministries at Our Lady of Peace.
“So much grace was outpoured, through Kim’s presentation,” she added.
In addition to his online videos attracting more than 2 million views, Kim has also achieved recognition with the release of two music albums, and as the founder of the Triumph Men’s Conference.
Kim will also be heard on an upcoming episode of the Talking Catholic podcast with Janisse and co-host Mike Walsh, director of communications for the Diocese of Camden.
