The South Jersey Catholic Medical Association presents, ”Responders to the Holy Spirit,” a day of recollection for health care professionals on Saturday, May 18. The event will be held at the Discovery Retreat Center, 3730 Richards Ave. in Mullica Township, N.J.
The day will include reflections on St. Giuseppe Moscati, “Doctor to the Poor,” facilitated by Dr. Carmen Ciervo, and on St. Gianna Beretta Molla which will be facilitated by Dr. Joseph Hong.
St. Giuseppe and St. Gianna are both saints of the 20th century and both physicians. They are “Models of Spirit Responders,” said organizers for the day of reflection.
Following the reflections a panel will discuss. “How can doctors, nurses and health care providers become spirit responders today?”
The day will begin with a light lunch at noon and end with the Mass for the Vigil of Pentecost at 4:15 p.m. Father Albert E. Harshaw, spiritual director of the SJCMA will be the celebrant and Father Mark Aita, a Jesuit priest and physician, will be the homilist.
The cost for the day is $15 for those who register in advance and $20 for those who register on site. The fee for medical students is $3. Members of the South Jersey Medical Association may attend at no charge.
