The 30th annual ECCLE — Encuentro Católico Carismático Latino Estadounidense (Encounter of Latino Catholic Charismatics in the U.S.) — took place last weekend in Washington, D.C., bringing together 420 diocesan Hispanic leaders of Charismatic Renewal from around the country.
The April 17-19 conference was sponsored by CNSH (Comité Nacional de Servicio Hispano), the National Service Committee for Hispanic Charismatic Renewal. Andrés Arango, Bishop’s Delegate for Hispanic Ministry in the Diocese of Camden and President of the Hispanic Charismatic Renewal in the U.S. says “it was an amazing weekend where we experienced the love of the Holy Spirit who impulse us to be more involved in our parishes, families and communities.”
The weekend’s message was “Que todos sean uno, para que el mundo crea (That they may all be one, so that the world may believe),” and included fellowship, music, prayer, Eucharistic celebrations, and discussions on unity in the Church and family.
Jim Murphy, Director of Formation for the ICCRS (International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services), Office of Charismatic Renewal located at the Vatican, was the keynote speaker.
Kathia Arango, Coordinator for the Hispanic Charismatic Renewal in the Diocese of Camden says: “It was a wonderful opportunity for the leaders from Camden to join a national meeting and share with others about the importance of living our spirituality in unity.”
