On Feb. 22, at Holy Angels Parish in Woodbury, Bishop Dennis Sullivan met 12 missionaries from the National Evangelization Team for donuts, coffee and conversation.
The young men and women are facilitating nine retreats in parishes and Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Camden, sharing the faith with more than 700 Catholic teens.
Every August, 150 young Catholics aged 18-28 leave behind their jobs, school, family and friends to devote nine months to serving with the National Evangelization Team (NET). Divided into 14 teams, they travel across the U.S. to share the Gospel with young people and their families through their personal witness of faith. Since 1981, NET teams have led more than 29,000 retreats and ministered to more than 1.7 million young Catholics, inviting them to live for Christ, and forming them in Christian character through the study and practice of their faith.
NET is a nonprofit organization incorporated in the state of Minnesota. It is funded through individual donations, program fees and grants and is governed by a national board of directors.
