On May 6 Saint Mary School, Williamstown, held a Superheroes for Aidan Day to support their classmate, Aidan Eberhardt, and his family as he undergoes treatment for a malignant tumor of the brain.
Students dressed in their favorite superhero attire as they clapped their classmate down the hallway to the lunchroom, where he ate lunch with his third grade friends amidst balloons, a stiltwalker and cheers of support.
Aidan was diagnosed three days after Christmas with Medulloblastoma and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. His mom, dad and two brothers also attended the event on Friday.
Saint Mary School families, faculty and staff have raised over $5,000 for Aidan and his family and a donation check and gift basket were presented to them during the lunch.
May is Brain Tumor Awareness Month. The family has a donation page for anyone who may be interested in assisting with their needs during this time. The address for the donation page: https://goo.gl/z2czxY
