On Wednesday, March 24, Holy Spirit High School, Absecon, was trying to make it 250.
After beating 249 other teams throughout its season, the school’s 11-student mock trial team faced off against West Morris Mendham High School (Morris County) in the state finals at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick. However, West Morris Medham’s prosecution defeated Holy Spirit’s defense team in the mock case of a woman charged with kidnapping her boss’ teenage son, in a scheme set up to get thousands of dollars for an operation for her husband that would alleviate his brain cancer.
Next for Holy Spirit is a rebuilding process, after seven seniors graduate in June.
