Mackenzie Brooks, center, smiles after being presented a $1,000 check as the recipient of this year’s Mignogna Family Scholarship. Brooks is a recent graduate of Paul VI High School in Haddonfield and is attending Rowan University this fall. Every year, the Knights of Columbus Council 6551 accepts submissions for the tuition scholarship; winners are judged on a 500-word essay. Brooks wrote about bonding with and supporting a young girl with disabilities through basketball and other activities.
