
Sister Barbara Maria Bamberger, IHM, who served as a liturgist, assistant worship director and pastoral associate in the Diocese of Camden, died April 5.
Formerly known as Barbara Ann Bamberger, Sister Maria served in South Jersey for more than a decade.
From August 2003-2005, she was liturgist at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Berlin, after which she became assistant director of the diocesan Office of Worship, serving until 2011.
She then served as part-time pastoral associate of Saint Joachim Parish, Bellmawr, until 2015, when she began work as a spiritual director while residing at Annunciation Convent, Bellmawr.
Since 2016, she had been at Camilla Hall Nursing Home in Malvern, Pa., the convent home and healthcare center of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
In addition to her IHM community, she is survived by her stepbrothers, Robert Muller and Sylvester Muller, and her many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral Mass was celebrated April 9 in Malvern. Interment was at Immaculata Cemetery. A replay of the livestreamed funeral Mass can be viewed at youtu.be/MPzaP_SZc-8.
