Florence R. Heintzelman (Capelli), 99, of Margate, the mother of Father Edward Heintzelman, pastor of Saint Vincent de Paul Parish, Mays Landing, died June 8.

Born in Atlantic City, she was a lifetime resident of the Jersey Shore, and attended both Holy Spirit Grammar School and Holy Spirit High School, graduating in 1940. In 2003, she was inducted into the high school’s Hall of Fame.
A 71-year member of Blessed Sacrament/Holy Trinity Parish, she was past president of Blessed Sacrament’s Altar Rosary Society, Senior Citizens Club as well as the Couples Club. In her community, she assisted with voter registration and volunteered at the Margate Senior Citizens Center, helping to arrange bus service pickup until she was 96 years old.
Married in 1947, she was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Edward F. Heintzelman Sr., and son Leo, as well as her parents and sisters, Josephine Capelli and Sister Mary Josette, RSM.
She is survived by her children: Linda Gesell (William) of Red Bank; Father Heintzelman; Eileen Stasuk (Rich) of Somers Point, and Richard Heintzelman (Gabrielle) of Fair Haven; and nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated June 15 with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing.
