Above, from left, Eileen Froeder, Henry Szychulski and Mark Plocharski open time capsules June 12 at Saint Joseph Church, Camden, a parish worship site of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Members of the Polish Catholic Apostolate of the Diocese of Camden were on hand to reveal the contents of three time capsules discovered in the bases of the Polish War Heroes monuments at Cooper River Park, Pennsauken. The time capsules were recovered in 2019 prior to the relocation of the Polish monuments from within the park to its monument row. They were installed in the concrete bases of the Gen. Casimir Pulaski monument when it was rededicated in 1982 and the Gen. Thaddeus Kosciuszko monument when it was dedicated in 1984.
Among the items unveiled, below, a certificate from the U.S. Army 451st Chemical Battalion (Smoke Generator) for participation in the 1982 rededication; a page of signatures of attendees at the 1982 event, which includes that of the late Msgr. Edward H. Bucia, former pastor of Saint Joseph; and the business card of the late Michael Feret, commander of what was then the Polish Army Veterans # 121.
