In connection with the National Eucharistic Revival, this year’s Hispanic Catholic Charismatic Renewal Conference will focus on the healing properties of the Body of Christ.
“The teachings will be about Jesus continuing to heal us and how one of the best places to experience that healing is in the Eucharist,” said Andrés Arango, Bishop’s Delegate for Hispanic Ministry and Director of Evangelization in the Diocese of Camden. “When we talk about healing, it’s important to remember it’s not just physical. It’s inner healing, spiritual healing.”
The conference will be held in Spanish on Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Saint Jude Church, Our Lady of Hope, Blackwood. Father Amaury Mestra of Colombia, a spiritual adviser for the movement, will be the featured speaker and presider. The day will include Mass, healing prayer and a Holy Hour, with music provided by those from Our Lady of Guadalupe, Lindenwold.
Many of the day’s themes will revolve around Mark 5:21-43 and the woman who was healed after touching Jesus’ robe.
“Just as Jesus healed people while he walked the earth, he continues to heal people in extraordinary ways today,” Arango said.
There are eight Spanish-speaking charismatic prayer groups around the Diocese of Camden, which are very important for people who love the charismatic way of praying to God, Arango said.
“People can go to the conference knowing they will have a personal encounter with Jesus. But they also know they can go to their different parishes afterward and continue growing in their relationships with the Lord.”
The daylong event costs $15 and includes lunch and a light breakfast. For more information, call 856-981-4219 or 954-439-8692.
