Parishioners from Saint Joseph, Sea Isle City, donned costumes and holy identities Nov. 6 for the parish’s inaugural Saints Alive Museum. Dressed as Saint Patrick, Saint Joan of Arc, Saint Anne and others, parishioners stood behind museum-like ropes as living statues, becoming animated and sharing about their lives when a group would approach to learn more.
The event drew faithful from multiple generations, all of whom followed behind a trumpet player after Sunday morning Mass in a procession from the church to the auditorium. Young people dressed as angels served as “museum” guides, and all those involved – including the “statues” – said the experience helped them learn that the saints were ordinary people who led extraordinary lives out of love for the Lord.
