The Saint Thomas More Parish Choir, accompanied by area Catholic school choirs, made a joyful noise for the season the afternoon of Dec. 4 in Cherry Hill during the “Festival of Lessons and Carols.”

The pews were filled as through Scripture, hymn and song, the musicians recounted the Biblical stories of the Messiah’s promise and Incarnation.
The Saint Thomas More Parish Choir was joined by the Select Choir from Pennsauken’s Bishop Eustace Preparatory School; Cherry Hill’s Camden Catholic High School Choir; the Bell Choir from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Regional School, Berlin, and Haddonfield’s Paul VI High School Chamber Choir. Andrew Ennis, Bishop Eustace director of instrumental music and organist/pianist at Camden’s Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, accompanied on trumpet.
Sister Ann Byrnes, RSM, who leads Lifelong Faith Formation at Saint Thomas More, initiated the festival eight years ago to help both those participating and attending “appreciate the hope-filled season of Advent and anticipate the joy of Christ’s Birth.”
