Bishop Dennis Sullivan spent the week around Christmas celebrating Mass and visiting parishioners and retired priests of the Diocese of Camden.

On Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, above, the Bishop celebrated Mass at Saint Margaret Church, Infant Jesus Parish, Woodbury Heights. “At the Birth of Jesus, God breaks into the terrible darkness of the world,” he preached. “I say to each of you, let that light shine on you this Christmastide. Let its fire warm each one of you with God’s unconditional love for you. Let it disperse our sadness … our trials … our sins.”

Days later, on Dec. 29, above, Bishop Sullivan visited with retired priests of the Diocese who live at Sacred Heart Residence, Cherry Hill, including Father John A DelDuca, below. The Bishop celebrated Mass in the chapel and later joined the priests and some of the residence’s staff for dinner. During the visit, he discussed the happenings around the Diocese in the past year, and also spoke about current events and the need to negate hate in the world. Joining the Bishop for the visit were some current pastors and parochial vicars in the Diocese as well as Father Robert Hughes, Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia for the Diocese; Father Nicholas Dudo, diocesan vicar for clergy, and Father Joshua Nevitt, the Bishop’s priest-secretary and associate vocations director.
