Brooklyn Carcaci

Brooklyn Carcaci

Gloucester Catholic High School, Gloucester City

Softball

Throughout the spring season, Brooklyn Carcaci thrived wherever she was needed. The Rams junior first baseman hit .450 at the plate and led the team with 31 RBIs as Gloucester Catholic went 14-7 on the season. When she was called in to relief pitching duty, Carcaci struck out 29 batters in 21 innings and provided a stable presence. Through her ability to contribute wherever needed, Carcaci proved to be one of the most valuable players on a Gloucester Catholic team that played into June by reaching the South Jersey Non-Public B championship for the second straight year.

Jonathan Forrest

Jonathan Forrest

Bishop Eustace Preparatory School, Pennsauken

Track and Field

Jonathan Forrest graduated as a state champion.

A member of Bishop Eustace’s Class of 2023, Forrest capped off his tremendous senior season with a gold medal in the 110 high hurdles at the Non-Public B state championships at Delsea High School on June 10 with a winning time of 16.32. Forrest added a silver medal in the 200 meter dash at the same meet with a time of 23.17. An honor roll student and a multi-sport athlete, Forrest also returned kicks and served as a running back for the Crusaders’ football team in the fall.

Claire Magee

Haddonfield

Track and Field

Claire Magee is only getting started.

The Paul VI freshman raced through her first high school track and field season while posting some promising marks as the calendar flipped to June.

At the Non-Public A State Championships at Franklin High School on June 10, Magee finished seventh in both the 100- and 200-meter dashes and took home third place in the 400 with a run of 58 seconds flat. Five days later at the Meet of Champions, Magee shaved off 17 hundredths of a second in the 400 to take ninth place among the fastest high school 400 runners in the entire state.

Tanner Nolan

Tanner Nolan

Gloucester Catholic High School, Gloucester City

Baseball

Tanner Nolan’s June was just the icing on the cake for one of the most dominant baseball seasons for a high school pitcher in South Jersey history.

On June 3, Nolan, a Crowder College commit, struck out nine in six innings in a 6-1 win over Ranney to help the Rams advance to the Non-Public B State Championships. He completed the task six days later, throwing five shutout innings of two-hit ball (seven strikeouts) as Gloucester Catholic defeated Saint Mary (Rutherford) 10-0 to win its 20th baseball state championship in school history.

On the season, Nolan pitched 58 and a third innings, struck out 91 batters and allowed just four earned runs (0.48 ERA).

Noah Plenn

Noah Plenn

Saint Augustine Preparatory School, Richland

Lacrosse

The only number that got smaller for Noah Plenn this year was his jersey number as the Saint Augustine Prep junior switched from wearing 32 to 2 this season. All his statistical numbers were on the rise.

Plenn led the Hermits in goals (43), assists (20) and points (63), which were all career highs for the University of Delaware commit. He helped lead the Hermits to a 12-6 record, which included wins over Saint Joseph High School (Metuchen) and Pingry before bowing out in the state Non-Public A semifinal against Seton Hall Prep. Plenn’s four goals in the Hermits’ two June contests were also tops on the team.

Hanna Watson

Hanna Watson

Holy Spirit High School, Absecon

Lacrosse

Hanna Watson achieved the hat trick of milestones on one single June afternoon.

Watson, a junior at Holy Spirit, notched her 200th career goal, her 200th career assist and her 400th career point on June 6 in a 14-6 victory over Saddle River Day in the semifinal round of the State Non-Public B playoffs.

The Florida Southern College commit started off the month with an incredible five-goal, five-assist performance June 1 in the quarterfinal round against Saint Elizabeth and finished strong with a goal and two helpers in the state championship game against Montclair Kimberley. Watson had eight goals and 12 assists in just three games in June and finished her season with 58 goals and 76 assists.
