The Diocese of Camden’s Office of Catholic Schools released a video series on their Facebook page during Catholic Schools Week highlighting the commonalities that the Diocese’s elementary schools share, their deep devotions to the Catholic faith and rich traditions of Catholic education.
Schools Office communications manager Michael Bress and Catholic Star Herald videographer Dave Hernandez traveled to seven schools in the Diocese to complete the project. The seven schools were chosen to represent the seven themes of Catholic Schools Week: Celebrating Your Parish, Celebrating Your Community, Celebrating Your Students, Celebrating the Nation, Celebrating Vocations, Celebrating Faculty, Staff and Volunteers, and Celebrating Families.
Of course, not all diocesan schools could be included in this series, but with more special series planned, each school will be highlighted during 2022. For this project, Bress and Hernandez spoke with principals, teachers and students at Assumption Regional Catholic School in Galloway, Bishop McHugh School in Cape May Court House , Resurrection Catholic School in Cherry Hill, Saint Margaret Catholic School in Woodbury Heights, Saint Michael the Archangel Regional School in Clayton, Saint Peter Catholic School in Merchantville, and Saint Teresa Regional School in Runnemede.
Bress noted after filming was complete that “listening to the principals, students and faculty answer my questions with such enthusiasm gave me an even deeper appreciation for our Catholic schools.”
