At the end of this month, the Knights of Columbus, Incarnation Council 6364, Mantua, will host its inaugural 30-mile Catholic Scholarship Bike Ride.
The Oct. 28 event is a way “to grow our faith and support young Catholic school students,” says the council’s Grand Knight, Robert LaPalomento, adding that “the Knights are committed to Catholic education.”
Each year, the council provides scholarships for Incarnation parishioners entering a Catholic high school or any college. This is the first bike ride sponsored by the Mantua knights.
Registration for the Oct. 28 race, which begins and ends at the parish, is $30 in advance and $35 on race day; advance registration is encouraged.
Checks should be made out to Incarnation Council 6364, 240 Main St., Mantua, N.J., 08051.
Signup begins at 8:30 a.m. with the ride beginning at 9:30 a.m. Post-race, there will be a barbecue with soft drinks available.
