GIBBSBORO – All are invited to join Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish on Wednesday, Sept. 11, in a 2,000 Hail Mary Devotion.
From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the church, faithful will come together in front of the Blessed Sacrament in intercessory prayer to the Blessed Mother to pray for peace in Ukraine, the Middle East and the safe release of hostages, and for all families.
Remarking that participants can spend a few hours, or as little as five minutes in prayer that day, Msgr. Louis Marucci, the pastor of Saint Andrew the Apostle, added that the devotion is a good way to connect with the Blessed Virgin Mary, “That great gift that God gave us: His Mother.”
“In time of such difficulties in our world, we can go to her for comfort and peace,” he continued.
The devotion will begin at 7 a.m., and include an 8 a.m. liturgy; prayers to the Blessed Mother, with particular focus on Our Lady of Palestine and Our Lady of Perpetual Help; and conclude at 5 p.m. with Adoration.
