On Nov. 26, Saint Charles Borromeo Parish in Sicklerville hosted a family gathering in preparation for the first week of Advent. Families came together to craft their own Advent wreaths, embracing the spirit of the season. Felicia Navarro Morris, director of religious education, explained to those gathered how celebrating this sacred season helps all grow in anticipation of Jesus’ coming at Christmas and teaches children that Jesus truly is the Reason for the Season.

As part of the cherished tradition, each Advent wreath included four candles, symbolizing Jesus as the light in the darkness. The evening was filled with joy and community, with 76 families rolling their own wax candles and assembling wreaths. To conclude, Msgr. Peter Joyce, parish pastor, blessed the wreaths and families, walking through the Religious Education Center’s hall sprinkling Holy Water on all present.
