Calling it a beacon “shining brightly for people who live in very dark situations in Atlantic City,” Bishop Dennis Sullivan visited the winter shelter run by the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal on Feb. 1. Bishop Sullivan and his priest-secretary, Father Joshua Nevitt, visited with the clients and volunteers and provided spiritual guidance. The shelter, located in the Parish of Saint Monica’s Quaremba Hall, behind Saint Michael Church, is a place for the homeless of Atlantic City to find a warm bed, food, faith and camaraderie from December to March.
