The Black and Indian Missions Collection will take place in the Diocese of Camden the weekend of Feb. 17-18.
Since 1884, proceeds from this national collection – begun at the request of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops – has helped to evangelize the Black and Indian communities of the United States. The funds are distributed as grants to dioceses across the nation, supporting and strengthening evangelization programs that otherwise would cease.
“Your financial support of the Black and Indian Mission Office enables us to help form children in the faith, educate young people and build hope – a hope often so hard to find in the areas our missionaries serve,” Father Henry Sands, the office’s executive director, said in a statement.
In 2023, the Diocese of Camden collected $73,721 for these missions.
