Last week in Absecon, Holy Spirit defeated visiting Saint Augustine (Richland) by a score of 10-8 in high school boys’ baseball. Saint Augustine Prep captured its third straight Cape Atlantic League Championship last weekend at Stockton University, defeating Atlantic City 62-53 in the Saturday evening final. Above, Justyn Mutts (22) dunks over defenders, garnering 2 of his 10 points that night for the Richland Catholic school.

Up for the shot

The visiting Paul VI High School girls’ basketball team celebrated their win last weekend against Camden Catholic, 52-47, in the semifinal of the South Jersey High School Girls’ Basketball Non-Public A Championship. The thrill of victory turned into the agony of defeat last Tuesday, as Paul VI was defeated 64-48 by Red Bank Catholic in the finals.
