Catholics looking to network with fellow business professionals are invited to attend the upcoming Catholic Business Network of South Jersey meeting.
The gathering will begin with Mass at 8 a.m., Sept. 15, in Saint Agnes Church, Blackwood. Breakfast will follow in Our Lady of Hope’s parish hall. The morning’s guest speaker will be Father Joseph Szolack, pastor, who will discuss spirituality in business.
“To me, that topic means having God and Jesus in your heart when doing business and being an honest person,” said Jeff Morris, president of CBN and owner of Morris Graphics, based in Woodbury.
“There are lot of people who are interested in business from a faith-based perspective,” he continued. “They treat their employees right; they treat their vendors right; they treat their customers right. They are honest in all their dealings as a business owner – or as an employee – and want to network with others who are likeminded.”
The upcoming meeting will serve as a relaunch for the Catholic Business Network, whose membership was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, there will be no cost to attend or for the breakfast, which is being sponsored by Jim Turpin, Chelsea Wealth Management. After September, individual memberships are $125 per year. Breakfast will be $10 for members and $20 for non-members.
Stacy Napolitano, associate director of Major Gifts and Stewardship for the Diocese of Camden’s Development Office, attended CBN meetings pre-COVID. “They were always positive experiences. I found it inspiring to listen to the speakers and appreciated talking with others, some of whom became potential vendors for the Diocese.”
Napolitano, who now serves on CBN’s board of trustees, expressed gratitude toward the organization’s founders and previous trustees for their work over the years.
The Catholic Business Network of South Jersey will meet the third Friday of every month at different parishes across the Diocese of Camden. In addition to the September gathering, other scheduled events are: Oct. 20 at Saint Simon Stock, Berlin; Nov. 17 at Holy Family, Sewell, and Dec. 15 at Saint Joseph the Worker, Haddon Township. All meetings begin with Mass at 8 a.m., followed by breakfast, fellowship, a guest speaker and networking opportunities. The CBN is currently accepting sponsorships to cover the cost of future breakfasts.
