Throughout the Diocese of Camden and across the world, parish communities celebrated Divine Mercy Sunday on April 7. Always held on the second Sunday of Easter, the feast was established by Pope Saint John Paul II in 2000, when he canonized Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska. The 20th century Polish mystic’s life included visions of Jesus Christ urging her to promote devotion to his mercy, and his promises to grant complete forgiveness of sins and remission of temporal punishment for those who prayed the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
