Patricia Agnes Loughran, who was an influential figure in the charismatic renewal in the Diocese of Camden, died July 29 at Jefferson Neuroscience Center. She was 75.
Mrs. Loughran was a retired registered nurse who was devoted to her grandchildren and her faith.
She was a chairperson of the Steering Committee for the Camden Diocese Charismatic Renewal. She worked with the renewal in the tri-state area for 40 years.
She was a member of the board of In His Sign Catholic Radio, served at the intercessory ministry of the Discipleship of the Perfect Love of the Father, and spearheaded the hospitality services at the Marian Center for Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Newfield.
Mrs. Loughran was a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. As a registered nurse, she was the head of the recovery room at Abington Hospital. She spent her last few years before retiring as a head nurse for the Cape May County American Red Cross.
She is survived by her daughter, Tricia Eakins, her son-in-law Steve Eakins, her grandchildren, Katie, Mary and Jimmy Eakins, her siblings John (Gail) O’Brien, Molly (Tom) Rutt, Eileen (Jim) Halling, Dan (Jane) O’Brien, Bernie (Mollie) O’Brien, Joan (Bill) Hilburt, Kevin (Janet) O’Brien, Michael (Kim) O’Brien, and Angel (Greg) Wolf. Numerous cousins, nieces and nephews also survive her, and sister-in-law Ann (Ed) Loughran Hearn. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, James W. Loughran.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Michael Church, Minotola, on Aug. 3. Final disposition will be private at the convenience of the family.
