South Jersey’s faithful are being asked to support the work of the Holy Father through the Peter’s Pence Collection the weekend of June 24-25. Each year, the collection provides emergency relief assistance to victims of war, migrants and refugees, and the poor affected by illness and natural disasters. Last year, $90,259.30 was collected in the Diocese of Camden. “When you participate in the collection, you join Catholics across the globe in supporting the pope’s mission of mercy as well as the activities of the Holy See’s dicasteries that assist his ministry,” the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops said in a statement.
