On Wednesday, Aug. 19, the Diocese of Camden’s Racial Justice Committee held its Sixth Annual Appreciation Dinner, during which Joseph Moritz was honored as the Volunteer of the Year. It was held at Touch of Italy Resaurant, Egg Harbor Township.
Moritz, the former secretary of the committee and member of the Diocesan Subcommittee for Schools and Religious Education, is a longtime presence in the South Jersey Catholic community and remains dedicated to the goals and efforts of the Racial Justice Committee. He is a member of St. Teresa of Avila Parish, Bridgeton.
Bishop Joseph A. Galante attended the event. Deacon Bill Johnson, chairperson of the committee, made the presentation.
The face of the committee will be changing, as Dr. Merrilyn Faison resigned as coordinator due to her impending relocation.
