In this Year of Saint Joseph, a day of retreat on “Saint Joseph – Our Model of Faith & Trust” will take place Dec. 4 at Christ the King Parish in Haddonfield.
Sister Dorothy Giloley, S.S.J., instructor in the Diocese’s Church Ministry Institute of Camden and Catholic campus minister at Rutgers University-Camden, is the facilitator for the day. She says the retreat will be a time to unpack Pope Francis’ 2020 apostolic exhortation, “Patris Corde” (With A Father’s Heart). There will also be a presentations on Joseph as not only a model of faith and trust, but also as a saint for the ordinary; Scripture sharing and quiet time for reflection.
As Saint Joseph “needed to take a leap of faith” after learning God’s plans for him, Mary and Jesus, so must we “put faith and trust in God. Each of us is called to live the Gospel, and we are called to serve, as Joseph served Mary and Jesus,” she says.
The retreat will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Christ the King’s Morgan Hall, 200 Windsor Ave. A light breakfast will be provided at 9:30 a.m., and participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch, with beverages provided.
The retreat is $25; checks made payable to the Diocese of Camden can be sent to 631 Market St., Camden, NJ, 08102. Registration deadline is Oct. 29. For more information, contact Lisa Lauria at 856-583-6103.
