Sister Eufemia Parducci, who taught in Merchantville, dies

Sister Eufemia Parducci, MPF, 95, a former fifth grade teacher at St. Peter School in Merchantville, died July 7 at St. Joseph Hall, Villa Walsh, Morristown, N.J.

She entered the Religious Teachers Filippini in 1948. She received her habit in 1949, and made her religious profession in 1952.

Predominantly an elementary school teacher, she taught the fifth grade at St. Peter in Merchantville from 1987-89. She also served at other schools in New Jersey, and in Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

In 2012, Sister Eufemia retired to Villa Walsh. The next year, she became a resident of St. Joseph Hall Infirmary.

Her order recalled Sister Eufemia’s “joyful witness to God’s people and her generous spirit. She always placed herself where the action was.”

Sister Eufemia is the daughter of the late Cherubino Parducci and Julia Giambastini, and sister of the late Angelo Parducci, Mrs. John Tromba, Mrs. Peter Landucci and Mrs. Joseph Di Lullo of Torrington, Conn.

She is survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on July 13 at the St. Lucy Chapel at Villa Walsh, Morristown. Interment was at Ave Maria Cemetery.
