Bishop Sullivan to celebrate Ordination Mass May 14

Five men are set to be welcomed into the priesthood during an Ordination Mass celebrated by Bishop Dennis Sullivan at 10:30 a.m., May 14 in Saint Agnes Church, of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Blackwood.

The five transitional deacons are: Paul Abbruscato, Christopher Myers, Logan Nilsen, Cesar Pirateque and Stephen Robbins.

Rev. Mr. Paul Abbruscato

Deacon Abbruscato, 36, whose home parish is the Parish of Saint Monica in Atlantic City, is currently finishing his pastoral year at Cherry Hill’s Christ Our Light Parish. His seminary studies were at the Pontifical North American College in Rome, Italy.

He will celebrate First Mass on Sunday, May 15 at 4:30 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Parish of Saint Monica, Atlantic City.


Rev. Mr. Christopher Myers

Deacon Myers, 40, is finishing fourth year theology at Immaculate Conception Seminary at Seton Hall University, South Orange. His home parish is Blackwood’s Our Lady of Hope.

He will celebrate his First Mass on Sunday, May 15 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Gibbsboro.


Rev. Mr. Logan Nilsen

Deacon Nilsen, 27, whose home parish is also Our Lady of Hope, is a graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School. He is completing his final year at Saint Joseph’s Seminary in New York. 

He will celebrate his First Mass on Sunday, May 15 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Agnes Church, Our Lady of Hope Parish, Blackwood.


Rev. Mr. Cesar Pirateque

Deacon Pirateque, 39, is in his final year at Immaculate Conception Seminary at Seton Hall University, South Orange. His home parish is Infant Jesus Parish, Woodbury Heights.

He will celebrate his First Mass on Sunday, May 15, at 3:30 p.m. at St. Agnes Church, Our Lady of Hope Parish, Blackwood.


Rev. Mr. Stephen Robbins

Deacon Robbins, 25, a graduate of Bishop Eustace Preparatory School, Pennsauken, is completing his seminary studies at Saint Joseph’s Seminary. His home parish is Our Lady of Guadalupe, Lindenwold. 

He will celebrate his First Mass on Saturday, May 14 at 5 p.m. at St. Lawrence Church, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Shrine, Lindenwold.
