Domestic Church Media (DCM) president and CEO Jim Manfredonia, announced that radio station WSMJ 91.9 FM in North Wildwood, is being donated by the current owners, Soul Mates For Jesus, to the New Jersey-based Catholic Media Organization. WSMJ operates at 750 watts and covers all of Cape May County. It is currently an affiliate of EWTN but does not provide any local programming. When the switch was made on Oct. 25, it began simulcasting DCM programming, which includes 80 percent EWTN and 20 percent local programs. The official announcement of the donation was made on the DCM program, “TGI Friday Living!” which Manfredonia hosts along with Gabriella Furmato. Two of their guests were John and Rita Tice, who are founding members of Soul Mates For Jesus. The Tices said they were inspired by EWTN foundress, the late Mother Angelica, to start a radio station. WSMJ first went on the air in February 2013.
WSMJ is the fourth station owned and operated in New Jersey by DCM.
