Earl F. Cherubini, 86, father of Father Perry Cherubini, pastor of Saint Joseph Parish in Sea Isle City, died Dec. 29.
Born Dec. 17, 1937 in Bridgeton, he served in the Navy from 1956 to 1960. He worked in his father’s body shop for many years and went on to start other shops in the area. In 1966, he married Doris Schoonmaker and lived in Bridgeton, until they moved to The Villages, Fla., in 1999.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years; a son, Father Cherubini; sister Nancy Merritt; granddaughter Lauren Hemple; and nieces, a nephew and a godchild, McDaniel Leask. He was predeceased by his sister Judith Dallogo and son Earl Jr.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Jan. 4 at Saint Timothy Church, The Villages, Fla. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at Florida National Cemetery privately.
