John Desparrois, Sr., regional coordinator for the Diocese of Camden’s Catholic Charities in Cumberland and Salem counties, was presented with the 27th Libby Fogg Award May 23 at the Inter-Agency Council 28th Annual Awards Luncheon.
The Libby Fogg Award is given to an individual or group, who brought Salem County’s Social Service needs to light, or provided exceptional community service during the 2012 year.
In his letter nominating Desparrois, Kevin Hickey, executive director of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Camden, noted his “robust, energetic, and consistent advocacy for the needs of the poor and vulnerable people in Salem County.”
“In John, Salem County has a wonderful ambassador for the needs of its poor people.”
Hickey noted that despite Deparorois’ heavy workload with Catholic Charities, he is always ready to serve on committees, boards and work groups.
