Peace activist Franciscan Father Louis Vitale discusses nonviolent responses to terrorism and his recent trip to Iran at Sacred Heart Church, Camden, on Thursday, May 21. Father Vitale is the Action Advocate for Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service. A former provincial of the California Franciscan Friars, he co-founded the Nevada Desert Experience — a movement to end nuclear testing — and Pace e Bene. Retired pastor of a Catholic church in a low-income neighborhood in San Francisco, Father Vitale recently served five months in prison for opposing torture and was arrested this month, protesting drone bombing at Creech Air Force Base in Nevada.
