Elementary school principals from across the Diocese of Camden came together Dec. 5 for a day of professional development at Saint Peter School, Merchantville. The half-day session began with a mini-retreat led by Dr. Lee DelleMonache, diocesan director of religious education, right, to celebrate the beginning of Advent and discuss the ongoing Catholic identity formation for principals and teachers. The principals also welcomed their colleague, Philip Gianfortune, principal at Paul VI High School, Haddonfield, who presented on his recent dissertation on the science of reading. The presentation led to a lively discussion on the current reading curriculum.
