Gloucester Catholic High School is inducting its second annual Hall of Fame class at a banquet April 23 at Auletto’s Sunset Ballroom in Almonesson.
“The evening is a way for us to honor those who’ve done so much not only for the school, but outside and in their personal lives,” said Thomas Iacovone Jr., school principal.
As well, the recognitions are “a great learning opportunity” for those youth who currently walk the school’s halls, he said. In getting to know the honorees, “today’s Gloucester Catholic students can see their own potential, and what can be accomplished in their futures.”
Chosen by the school’s Hall of Fame Executive Committee, the inductees of this year’s prestigious class are:
Arts/Academics/Educators
Dr. William Peranteau ’93
Education: Princeton University, bachelor’s in molecular biology; University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
Career Highlights: Fellowships in research and pediatric surgery at CHOP; attending surgeon in CHOP’s Division of Pediatric General, Thoracic and Fetal Surgery; associate professor of surgery at Perelman School of Medicine at Penn.
Dr. David Coghlan (Posthumous)
Education: Mt. St. Mary’s College, Bachelor’s degree; Temple University, Masters, PhD, in English Literature.
Career Highlights: Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendent, Diocese of Camden; President, Paul VI High School; Chairperson, NJ Council of Catholic Schools; Chairperson of the Nonpublic School Advisory Committee of the New Jersey Department of Education; English Teacher, Gloucester Catholic High School; Adjunct Professor, Temple University.
Joe Gorman ’72
Education: Rutgers University
Career Highlights: Has spent 41 years in education, including three at St. Mary’s Grammar School, two at Gloucester Catholic, and 36 at Gloucester City High School. He has filled the roles of English teacher and Guidance Counselor and is an accomplished author of six books.
Elizabeth Reilly, J.D. ’69
Education: Gloucester Catholic High School, 1969; Princeton University, 1973; University of Akron School of Law, 1978.
Honors: National Merit Scholar, 1969; admitted as a member of Princeton University’s first class of female students; Outstanding Alumna of University of Akron School of Law.
Career Highlights: Interim Dean at The University of Akron School of Law; Vice Provost for Academic Planning at the University of Akron; McDowell Professor of Law; Chair of the President’s Commission on Equity; member of numerous task forces for the President and Provost.

Career Highlights: Collected more than 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds at GCHS; starred at University of North Carolina; Coach, Georgia Tech University; Assistant Commissioner, Atlantic Coast Conference; Commissioner, Atlantic 10 Conference.
Johnny Gaudreau ’11, Ice Hockey
College Career: Recipient of Hobey Baker Award at Boston College in 2014 as college hockey’s top player.
Career Highlights: Has played 10 years in the National Hockey League for the Calgary Flames and Columbus Blue Jackets; Seven-time NHL All-Star; Calder Memorial Trophy winner as the NHL’s top rookie in 2015.
Joe Fields ’71, Football
Education: Widener University, 1975
Career Highlights: Played 14 seasons in NFL, 13 with New York Jets; made two Pro Bowl appearances and earned six All-Pro honors; played 186 regular season NFL games.
Trish McNutt-Green ’82, Girls Basketball
Education: B.S. from Rowan University, 1991 and M.Ed from Wilmington University, 2002
Career Highlights: Started as point guard for three seasons on the GCHS girls basketball team and helped the Rams win state titles as a junior and senior; named South Jersey Player of the Year as a senior; led Haddonfield to five state championships as a head coach.
